Mary Mailman
Department Assistant

Mary Mailman first learned about the PADRE Foundation when her daughter, Julia, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in 2009 at age eight. Quickly realizing they needed help and support, they turned to the PADRE Foundation. Since then, Mary and her husband Michael as well as Julia, Julia’s older brothers Nick and Riley, have been involved in numerous events and fundraisers with the PADRE Foundation. Mary graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Business Administration Management in 1987. Previously, Mary worked in hotel management, promotional products and workmen compensation.
Marlen Rodriguez
Department Assistant

Marlen Rodriguez is the newest member of the PADRE team! She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science from California State University, Fullerton with an emphasis in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention. She also attended a vocational nursing school and received a licensure as a nurse assistant, while graduating at the top of her class and working for a private homecare agency. For nine months Marlen worked as an intern at Easter Seals in Brea, where she gained experience working with teens and adults with special needs. Marlen chose to focus on Health Promotion because she wanted to venture within the health field and make a direct impact in people’s lives. Becoming a Registered Nurse and continuing to work alongside kids living with Type 1 Diabetes is her goal.
